Our local pharmacists may be able to assist with certificates for:

• Absences from work due to illness or injury (personal leave)
• Absences due to illness or injury to a member of the employee’s immediate family or household (carer’s leave)

How our pharmacists can help

If you are unwell or caring for a sick family member, our pharmacists may be able to issue an Absence from Work Certificate for short periods of leave.

These certificates are intended for situations where the condition is within the pharmacist’s scope of practice, such as minor ailments.

Important information

Please note:

• Certificates are issued at the pharmacist’s discretion
• Certificates can only be provided for conditions within the pharmacist’s scope of practice
• Certificates are for short periods of leave only
• Certificates cannot be backdated
• You may be asked to provide identification
• For carer’s leave, the person who is ill must be present

When to ask for a certificate

• You require a short absence from work and need supporting documentation
