COVID-19 Vaccinations

Yes. COVID-19 vaccinations are available at selected Star Discount Chemist locations, administered by trained pharmacist vaccinators. Availability may differ between stores, so please select your preferred store to check appointments.

Eligibility and recommended doses depend on your age, health conditions, previous COVID-19 vaccinations and risk of severe illness. Current Australian vaccination advice can change, so your pharmacist will confirm whether the vaccine is suitable for you before vaccination.

Bookings are recommended to help ensure the vaccine and a trained pharmacist are available at your preferred time. Walk-in appointments may be available at some stores, but cannot be guaranteed.

Please bring:

• Your Medicare card, if you have one
• Photo identification
• Details of previous COVID-19 vaccinations, if available
• Your concession card, if applicable
• Information about your medicines, medical conditions and allergies

Allow around 20 to 30 minutes for your appointment. This includes a consultation with the pharmacist, vaccination and a short observation period after receiving your vaccine.

Yes. You will usually be asked to remain in the pharmacy for at least 15 minutes after vaccination. This allows the pharmacist to monitor you for any immediate reaction.

If you have a fever or are significantly unwell on the day of your appointment, it may be best to delay vaccination. Please contact the pharmacy before attending so the pharmacist can advise you.

Your vaccination will be recorded in line with applicable Australian immunisation reporting requirements. If you are eligible for the Australian Immunisation Register, your record may be available through Medicare’s immunisation history services.

You may still be recommended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine after recovering from infection, but the best timing can vary. Please discuss your recent infection and vaccination history with the pharmacist or your GP before booking.
