Common UTI symptoms

You may have a urinary tract infection if you experience:

• A burning sensation when urinating
• Needing to urinate more often than usual
• A strong urge to urinate
• Passing only small amounts of urine
• Lower abdominal discomfort
• Cloudy or strong-smelling urine

If your symptoms are severe, unusual, or not improving, you should see a doctor promptly.

Who can use this service?

This service may be suitable for people with uncomplicated UTI symptoms who meet the pharmacy’s assessment criteria.

It is not suitable for everyone. You should speak with a doctor urgently if you:

• Are pregnant
• Have fever, chills, back pain or vomiting
• Have blood in your urine
• Have symptoms in a child
• Have frequent or recurring UTIs
• Have kidney disease or other complex health conditions
• Feel very unwell or your symptoms are severe
